Random bloggings...

Ok yesterday I was slacking. I had a blog to post It was ready (in my mind at least). Then I decided I would much rather watch Lost... You see we put pictures on the desktop and that is in the kitchen, I could have updated from the netbook... But it would have looked really weird without any pictures...

Ok. So on with the post..Monday we spent a bit of time learning about Brianna's FAVORITE animals, Giraffes! Did you know Giraffes grow to be about 18 feet tall! That is about 3 daddies with maybe Caitlynn on top! Did you know their tongues can be 18 inches long, That is as long as Brianna's American girl doll! Did you know that they can have up to 5 horns! Giraffes are awesome!Check it out she wrote giraffe and Brianna!

Tuesday we went to the library for story time!
She was saying a poem they say at the beginning of every story time... You hold your hands closed like a book...
and say
"This is my book,
I open it wide,
To see the words that are inside,

I open it wide to see the pictures that are inside"

This week The theme was "things that go" The letter they worked on was Tt, train The craft they did was a train picture. It was awesome!
I really need to stop trying to be artsy! LOL
Then I went to go get the boys... I got some good pictures of Nathaniel

Then I aggravated Alex and he became the boy with no eye's! hahahahaha... He would be SO mad to know I was making fun of him :).


He can never stay mad for long though...

It is beautiful out!!!

And all the snow is gone!!! Yesterday we went on an adventure! Caitlynn choose North or south, she said north so we headed north and just drove. We ended up getting sort of lost for fun :). We sort of knew where we were but we had never been there before. While driving along Brianna suddenly shouted Look Mommy and Daddy A castle playground!!!! Sure enough there was this huge beautiful wooden playground! So of course we had to stop and play!(BTW I got lots of picture of Caitlynn because there were lots of people there and I was following her LOL)

Be green for spring

Today after cleaning the house and picking up about a million broken crayons I decided to do our favorite "green" activity with the girls. We recycled our old broken crayons and made some new pretty flower crayons for spring :).

First we removed the wrappers.. (well I did the girls tried and got frustrated)

Then they got to break the crayons that were to big and sort them by color(great activity for preschoolers!)
Yes I brushed her hair it was just a bad hair day! LOL
Caitlynn helped too!
Then we turned the oven on to about 250 degrees and watched them melt...
And waited and watched.. After they were melted I turned off the oven and let them cool and harden.
Then popped them out of the molds. and now instead of a million broken crayons we have some pretty cool flower crayons to use this spring!

Walking to the school...

Lately walking to the school has been a calm enjoyable experience as Caitlynn is learning to hold hands and not pull away, Brianna is calming down on the temper tantrums and I am learning to slow down and enjoy walking at the girls pace.

Yesterday as we were walking the girls were picking up leaves and looking at them, Brianna found one that was full of holes.. So I asked her

"Brianna Can you tell me what you think happened to that leaf?"

Brianna: "hmmm... I bet something ate it up!"

Me: "what do you think ate it?"

Brianna: "Maybe a lady bug?"

Me: " Good guess.. But Lady bugs eat tiny little bugs."

Brianna: " Hmmm maybe a Caterpillar.. or a beetle!"

Me: " Yup those bugs eat leaves! Can we think of other animals that eat leaves?"

Caitlynn: " Lions!"

Me : "nope lions eat meat"

Brianna : "Rhinoceroses "

Me: "yup"

Brianna: " Ohhhh and giraffes do to! They are my FAVORITE animal, Oh mommy where do giraffes live?"

Me: "Well They live in Africa and some live at the zoo."

Brianna: "Oh mommy I love giraffes they are soooo cute. For my Birthday I want to go to Africa and see giraffes!!!!!"

Me: "Um well honey.. I'm not sure we can go to Africa, but maybe we can talk to daddy and go to the zoo sometime soon..."

Brianna: "OK mommy..."

The poor girls was so sad... But Um, Yeah we aren't going to Africa LOL.

It's just so Blah outside!

Today is is just sooo Blah outside Lucky for the girls and I we got a package in the mail!! Yayyy.
Last week I placed an order at Haloheavon.com. They have some awesome prices on a lot of things but what caught my eye and made me order was the closeout section. One of the item in their closeout section is a 1 lb bag of imperfect headbands (approx 100 pieces per lb.) for $4.... I couldn't resist Then I added to my cart 1 dz. assorted crystal flower clips, and 1 dz. assorted butterfly hair clips. Well we got the package today and I am sooooo happy with what we got! So many things to play with!!

This is what was with our headbands, I was surprised some had bows or flowers on them, we also got a few extra bows in the bag. And the flowers, they are so cute, the girls love them :) and I know the pic only shows 11, one of the girls ran off with one LOL.

They also have a section called "Real insect jewelry" I knew the boys would love them.... ewwww Well they have them a dozen for $18 at any other store they are always $5-$7 a piece... my boys always want them but never get them... So I bought a dozen bracelets.. I am going to give Nathaniel 2 for his birthday and keep the rest as rewards and such maybe boy birthday presents if the boys get invited...yeah but these things are soooooo gross.....

In honor of Dr. Suess's 106th birthday I have decided to talk about reading.. We love to read, My husband myself and all of my children! I love to try to make the children's books come alive for them, be it by talking about them, or having them act it out(themselves or their toys). Researching the subject of the book. Or making recipe's that characters in the books made (Laura Ingalls Wilder) Making their favorite books into birthday cakes and so on and so forth. Every evening at about 6:30 we turn off music, and TV's we all grab a comfy seat and curl up with our favorite books.

Brianna LOVES the Little house books, Right now we are reading "On The Banks of Plum Creek" But well I can't take a picture of her and read to her ;). She also LOVES books about animals.

Alex will read anything about Pokemon. He also loves The magic tree house series, Batman, Spider-man, and he really really loves peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes.
(BTW my flash was really bright last night.)
Nathaniel is reading the The Lightening thief series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. For the second time.. This is a good series! Both My husband and I have read it. We enjoyed it just as much as Nathaniel has.. Oh and he started book three last night .. When he left for school today he was almost done with it!
