Snow again!!!

Well the boys are back to school today after 3 days of snow days! Tuesday we probably had 2.5 inches of snow followed by freezing rain that probably added a quarter inch of ice on top of the snow. Then it just would not melt! I kind of wish they had just had today off too. I'm not sure what they are going to get done today on a Friday after being out for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday but who am I to argue LOL.

It is Saturday!

Well Saturday's here are cleaning days.. the day we go through the house and clean clean clean...At least normally it is. This week the boys had a 4 day weekend from school so we split up the cleaning. Thursday we did the bedrooms and upstairs bathroom. Yesterday we did the playroom and downstairs bathroom. And today we did the living room and kitchen... And we are already done (we started at 9 and we were finished by 10 yayyyyy) So now all that is left is dishes and laundry.. fun stuff LOL.

Now onto another subject.. we have Birthdays coming up... LOTS OF THEM... Hubby and Caitlynn on Feb. 17th, Nathaniel March 18th, and Brianna April 14th...

Caitlynn is going to be difficult.. She is going to be 2, but she has soooo much stuff already, she may get a little bit for her play kitchen.. The one big thing I want to get her is a BIG magnadoodle...We have a travel sized one she loves and when she can't find it she colors with anything she can find anywhere she can reach.....it's really annoying..

Nathaniel is just about done, around Christmas we picked up a BIG collection of batman comics a Wii game we found cheap and a few other things..

For Brianna we have a few little things (some princess games) but I am thinking it would be neat to get her a new Leapster (pink of course).. We already have one but
A) it is one of the very first Leapsters that came out.. It was Nathaniel's.
B) the screen has a big spot on it
C) the pen got messed up years ago (we have had it since Nathaniel's 3rd birthday)
D) we got the boys each new Nintendo DS's for their last birthdays..
E) a pink one can also be passed down to her sister so that is cool :)
So I have been looking at the new Leapsters and the L-MAX... any input??? It has been a while since I shopped for these.. Also if anyone sees the Leapsters or L-max or a BIG magnadoodle on sale Let me know please!!!!

Making Cake

Ok to start with a picture of the girls, they were watching foot ball with daddy when I decided they should help me make a cake...
Ok actually they were watching football with daddy when I decided to make a cake..but because I decided to make a rum cake..
I then decided that They should help me make a cake that they can eat!


we used a valentines funfetti cake mix that daddy and Brianna got at the store last week on sale, and made it in a cool shaped bundt cake. Then we had to figure out how to frost it..

We ended up melting the frosting for a little bit in the microwave and pouring it on the cake... turned out pretty good :)Then the girls added sprinkles to their hearts content!
ohh see the castle cake in the background.. that is my rum cake, it is AWESOMEYeah they had a good time, and their cake was declaired the best cake EVER!!!!

When Mom is on the phone

Apparently anything goes, usually when I get on the phone, everyone decides to talk to me, ask for something, fight about anything, or just need my attention... Yesterday they all got really quiet...

Is it bad that I laughed and took pictures before I cleaned them up?? :)

A change of plans

Well I had planned on blogging today about the girls making a cake yesterday, but then it snowed, and snowed and snowed... so instead I have pictures of the kids in the snow!

Caitlynn's blanket!

Today I finally got a chance to start and finish Caitlynn's new blanket!!! I started at about 10 cutting it out, stopped to run to the grocery store and then make lunch and finished it by 12:30!
Caitlynn LOVES it and I really like it too!


She hasn't let go of it since I gave it to her :)

Making soft pretzels!

OK, I know I promised this post days ago, but well thing got busy here really fast. Monday was our first day watching my friends little girl... from... 8am-9pm..Yeah it's a long time. But our girls get along so it isn't all that bad just busy :). Then Tuesday we pick up another friends boy from school and he hangs out with us until his mom can get of work and come get him. Then Wednesday we have the first friends little girl again and pick up her first grader... Like I said BUSY... and it also means more vacuuming and less blogging...I'm sure it will all even out soon though !

Then because it was lunch time when they were done we decided to have them for lunch, some little smokes and carrots and lunch was ready to be enjoyed by all!
You know I think they really enjoy making their own food.


That night after the kids went to bed I made more pretzels, but I brushed them with butter and sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar. In the morning I threw them in the toaster oven to warm them up. Then put some cream cheese on them, Yummmm!!!

cleaning and getting ready

Well yesterday was Saturday and that is our cleaning day, we work on the whole house, top to bottom. Yesterday though we were doing an extra bit here and there because come Monday I will be watching my friends little girl (she is Caitlynn's age). Two days a week Monday and Wednesday. On Wednesday we will also be picking up her big sister from school (she is in first grade). We are all super excited to have them come over. I am working out in my head how our schedule will be adjusting, but I don't think it will be very hard. Yayyy, oh and look our play area is all clean!!!! This is were I expect the girls to spend most of their time...


Lots of fun! And today as a treat the kids and I are going to be making soft pretzels! yumm.
We are going to be using this recipe.
And the dough is rising! I plan on giving the kids each their own peice of dough to shape (and taking pictures) See you later!
